Others Speaking Your Thoughts
Sometimes, you run into that one person who says what your trying to say to your friends, or your family, but better. I have this problem a lot, since I'm very socially challenged, a problem I'm slowly getting rid of. Whenever I'm told that I should stop gaming or stop reading comics cause it's not grown up, I constantly think to myself whether I should or not. I mean, sure, video games are not very well accepted in society as a whole, what with all the bad press being chucked out by media and all. I know that's not the only reason, but at the moment, I seem to have a problem with naming them all. Plus, there are others on the internet who can better formulate their opinions than I ever could. Case and point: Is it socially unacceptable to play video games beyond the age of, say 25? Well, this article delves into this topic, giving insight as to why some continue to play with what society considers kid's stuff well after we have become too old for it.
What I like especially about this in particular is that it gives insight on a perspective not a lot of people seem to think of when they see others playing video games, or just any seemingly childish hobby in particular. Even if some don't think of it as entirely accurate, it certainly makes you think about and might even change your perspective on how you view others under that label. It certainly has me thinking. I'll leave it at that. Seems like a good stopping point. At least I think so.
